tenten is a small online bookshop in Shibuya, Tokyo. We sell photobooks and photo zines made in Japan, and ship them to readers in Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.

A photograph is half the story. The other half is the person who took it. With every book we carry, we tell why it was made and what the photographer wanted to show, so that a book made in Japan can reach someone who has never met them.

1. Add to Cart Find the book you want and press “Add to Cart” on its page.
2. Check out Open the cart from the bag icon at the top right and press “Check out”.
3. Shipping information Enter your name, address and phone number. Please use your real name for customs.
4. Payment Choose a payment method and review your order.
5. Order confirmed We email you a confirmation with your order number, and a tracking number once the book ships.

We accept credit cards and the other payment methods shown at checkout.

Book prices do not include shipping. The shipping fee depends on where we ship and on the weight of your order, and is calculated automatically at checkout. Within Japan, it is ¥870 (free on orders of ¥30,000 or more), or ¥3,762 for express. Abroad, one book costs ¥1,420 to Taiwan and ¥1,590 to Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore (Japan Post International Air Packet, tracked). We order each book from its publisher after you place your order, and it usually ships from Tokyo within 2 weeks. We email you a tracking number once it ships.

If we ship abroad, your country may charge import duties or taxes on your order. These are paid by the customer.

We do not accept returns or exchanges for a change of mind. If your book arrives damaged, or is not the book you ordered, please email us within 7 days of delivery, with a photo of the book. We will pay the shipping and send a replacement or give you a refund.
